Consider Leaving a Legacy to GW
We invite you to consider including The George Washington University in your estate plan through a planned gift. Our planned giving program offers you the opportunity to combine your charitable interest in GWU with estate planning options that often feature favorable tax treatment.
One category of planned gifts includes giving arrangements that reduce the donor’s taxable estate but do not require any immediate expenditure. Among these arrangements are bequest intentions in a will or a living trust and making the University a beneficiary of a life insurance policy or a retirement fund account.
A second category of planned gifts includes those that give the donor or donors an immediate income tax deduction as well as a lifetime stream of income at attractive rates. Among them are charitable gift annuities, deferred gift annuities, and charitable remainder trusts.
All types of planned giving arrangements give you the opportunity to establish a permanent legacy at the University in your own name or the name of a loved one.
