Dear Colleagues and Friends,
Last fall, we inaugurated our 16th President, Steven Knapp, and the events and activities leading up to this ceremony enabled us to view GW with fresh eyes.
So, what did we see?
We saw a University with deep and meaningful connections to our city and the world beyond D.C. We saw a community filled with students, staff, and faculty who are energized and inspired by what we have already accomplished, and by the opportunities which new leadership brings. As GW faculty and staff members, we guide this University’s success and make GW a vibrant community with growing resources and prestige. The sum of our efforts and commitment makes a difference, and we all feel that impact daily.
Historically, faculty and staff members have demonstrated their commitment to the University through their support of the Trachtenberg D.C. Scholarship Fund, as well as other gifts to particular programs and departments, and to the general annual fund. Also, many of you have donated your time by volunteering for various projects across campus. From all of us, thank you! However, this year we want to garner your support in a new and special way. We invite you to build upon a tradition of giving that is already in place here at GW.
The new, universal Faculty & Staff Campaign unites our efforts and recognizes our generosity as a community. This campaign reaffirms our commitment to GW. Your contribution—no matter the size—will enhance the student experience at GW, support faculty and staff development, and show your faith in GW.
With the ability to direct your donation to your own department, the President’s Fund for Excellence, or to hundreds of other programs on campus, you have the opportunity to make a difference in the area that most interests you. Simply use this pledge card to indicate the amount of your pledge, as well as your designation. You may choose to make a one-time gift or use payroll deduction. Again, we hope you will participate with a gift that is comfortable for you.
